These in-country programs, together with global products and services, focus on delivering results through an integrated approach of evidence-based green growth planning and implementation aligned to countries' development priorities. GGGI has a unique in-country presence and prominent role as a neutral, trusted advisor and strategic development partner embedded in Member and partner governments. This special arrangement or positioning sets GGGI apart from other international development and environmental development partners that collectively serve the green growth agenda.
GGGI has a rapidly expanding sustainable finance portfolio, assisting public and private financial sector actors to design, structure and bring to market innovative sustainable finance solutions, including green, social and sustainability bonds, sustainability-linked instruments, debt for nature/climate swaps, green credit and guarantee schemes. Since 2017, GGGI has successfully mobilized investment commitments exceeding USD 10 billion towards its member countries' NDC and SDG goals.
GGGI is seeking to expand its sustainable finance footprint in Paraguay to deliver demand-led support to Paraguay's National Development Agency (AFD) in greening its portfolio.
Position Summary
The MEL Assistant will support quality results-based management (RBM) in the Implementation of the Paraguay Sustainable Forestry Investment Fund (SFIF), financed under the Korea Green New Deal Trust Fund (KGNDTF) and provide support to the Portfolio in the Paraguay Program by operationalizing GGGI's MEL framework. Reporting to the Paraguay Country Program Manager and the MEL Senior Assistant, the position will work closely with project teams and other MEL personnel in the LAC Regional Office and HQ.
The position contributes to GGGI's mission by supporting the Paraguay Country Program deliver on its MEL commitments, and contributes directly to the Paraguay Sustainable Forestry Investment Fund's MEL commitments.
PURPOSE
To "deliver on GGGI's MEL commitments," tasks of the position will be nearly evenly divided between support to technical MEL delivery and administrative responsibilities.
ENGAGEMENT
- Liaise with internal project teams, consultants, AFD, MADES, and implementing partners to define and support the execution of MEL requirement.
- Collaborate with regional MEL advisors and the Impact and Evaluation Unit (IEU) in headquarters for alignment on operationalization of MEL rules, standards, and guidelines.
- Participate in GGGI's MEL Community of Practice to share knowledge, learnings, and best practices.
- Provide necessary data to support Communications and Knowledge Sharing (COMKS) in developing content for communication products and initiatives.
- Support data collection from field activities, workshops, and training sessions related to the SFIF's outputs.
- Contribute directly to the Paraguay Sustainable Forestry Investment Fund's MEL commitments.
DELIVERY
- Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and/or annual internal corporate and external donor reporting, including the process of reviewing data quality, accuracy, and alignment with organizational standards.
- Maintain data sources and documentation in an organized manner.
- Provide MEL advice and training (processes, logframe construct, data collection, analysis, key learnings, etc.) to internal colleagues.

Designing and execution of data collection, including field visits
- Designing of monitoring tools
- Development of learning agenda and facilitation of institutional learning activities
- MEL training
- Designing and management of MIS
- Writing of progress and result reports, inclusive of data visualization
- Implementation of technical studies, including evaluations
- Conduct simple to semi-advanced data cleaning, coding, and quantitative and qualitative data analysis

Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in economics, project management, development studies, monitoring & evaluation, political science, social sciences, environment science, climate change, sustainable development, or related areas is required.
- Preferred at least 2 years of work experience, preferably at least 1 year in MEL.
- Proficiency in business English, sufficient to comprehend complex details and instructions, communicate clearly, and write reports.
- Experience and knowledge in climate change or related field will be an asset
- Experience in projects related to sustainable development, forestry, climate change, or environmental finance is an asset.

WORKING CONDITIONS
The Assistant is a National Position at X4 grade level in GGGI's national salary scale. The salary range for the position starts at USD 15,435 USD per annum depending on qualifications and experience.
GGGI provides 15% of base salary towards retirement plan/long-term savings, 27 days of annual leave, and private health insurance that covers dental and vision.
